Ways children can get involved in the life of St Alban’s Church

Are you aged between 4 – 11 years of age? Do you enjoy having fun with friends and learning about the Christian Faith?

If the answer is yes, then come and join JaM – Jesus and me.

Playing in JaM

We meet every Sunday in the St Alban’s Centre during term time between 10.45 – 12.15pm. Worship, Bible teaching, sport, games, arts and crafts all available.

 

Are you 7 years of age or above (Year 3 upwards) and do you enjoy singing?

If the answer is yes, then join our children’s choir.

Rehearsal time: 8.45am Sunday mornings during term time beginning on Sunday September 9th. The choir sings at the 9.30am Family Mass every Sunday during term time.

 

Are you 8 years of age or above (Year 4 upwards) and would you like to join our serving team?

If the answer is yes, then come and learn how to serve on the following Sundays between 12.15pm – 1.00pm:  4th, 11th, 18th, 25th November 2018 in preparation to serve at the 9.30am Family Mass on Advent Sunday – 2nd December 2018

Do you enjoy reading aloud?

If the answer is yes, then let Father Christopher or one of the JAM leaders know, and we will ensure you are given the opportunity to read the lesson at the 9.30am Family Mass.

 

Would you like to join our children’s hospitality team?

If the answer is yes, then let Father Christopher or one of the JAM leaders know, and we will ensure you are given the opportunity to welcome people to Mass and serve tea and coffee to the congregation at the end of Mass.

 

A pilgrimige is a fun way to enjoy some outdoor activities!

Would you like the opportunity to go away with friends on a pilgrimage?

If the answer is yes, then join us for the children’s pilgrimage to The Shrine of our Lady of Walsingham which takes place in March every year.

 

Would you like to receive the sacrament of Baptism and/or Confirmation?

If the answer is yes, the let Father Christopher know.  He would be very happy to have a conversation and share with you how the church prepares children for receiving these sacraments.

Christmas Eve, Holy Week, Easter and Pentecost provide us with the opportunity to run day events for children to celebrate these major Christian Festivals.
